Terms of Service — Jewish Ground-Truth Intelligence (J-GTI) API by TATEH

Effective 2 October 2026 · served at https://api.tateh.org/terms

  1. The service. TATEH provides information together with its sources, its age and an honest status.
    • It is not a kashrus certification and not a halachic ruling.
    • Kosher status can change at any time. Before relying on it, check with the certifying agency.
    • For questions of halacha, ask your rav.
    • Shabbat, holiday and zmanim times are astronomical calculations. Local custom may differ.
  2. No warranty. The information is provided "as is", in beta. "unknown" means TATEH has no readable evidence either way, not "no".
  3. Keys.
    • Keep your API key secret. You are responsible for every call made with it.
    • You can rotate or revoke a key at any time at https://api.tateh.org/account.
    • We may suspend a key that abuses the service.
  4. Limits. Every plan has rate limits and daily or monthly allowances. They are listed at https://api.tateh.org/docs#limits. Calls beyond them are refused with HTTP 429, and the answer says when the allowance resets and how to get more.
  5. Attribution. When you show TATEH data to people, keep the source attributions that come in the answer: certifying agency names and links, "© OpenStreetMap contributors", the event organiser's page.
  6. Acceptable use. You may not:
    • copy the whole dataset or resell raw data;
    • get around limits with many keys or many addresses;
    • use the service to harass a business or a person;
    • present our answers as your own certification.
  7. Changes. /v1 changes only by adding fields. Breaking changes ship in a new version, with notice at https://api.tateh.org/changelog.
  8. Liability. To the extent the law allows, TATEH's liability is limited to the fees you paid in the last 12 months. In beta that is zero.
